Emmylou Harris and Steve Earle Tribute Concert

Presented by Songwriters at Play

Sunday October 5, 2025 2:00 pm
Cambria Center for the Arts

Emmylou Harris is considered one of the leading music artists behind the country rock genre in the 1970s and the Americana genre in the 1990s. Steve Earle is a protege of legendary songwriters Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, and became a master storyteller in his own right, with his songs being recorded by Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Joan Baez, and yes, Emmylou Harris. They've shared many stages, and now Songwriters at Play celebrates their music with a tribute concert on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2pm, at the Cambria Center for the Arts Theatre (CCAT). Tickets are on sale now at www.my805tix.com

Oct. 5 performers include Cambria's Jonathan Shue, local favorites Bay Love, Bob & Wendy, and Jesse Loren Strickman, plus Bay Area balladeer Zoe Fitzgerald Carter, SoCal singers Jason Luckett, Bailey Drew, and Stephen Bannon, as well as Victoria Roberts from the Fresno area.

You'll hear Emmylou's ballads such as Boulder to Birmingham, Easy From Now On, and Pieces of the Sky. We'll rock out on Steve Earle's anthems like The Galway Girl, Jerusalem, and I Ain't Ever Satisfied.

The concert is produced by Songwriters at Play, husband-wife team Steve Key and Bonnie Nelson-Key. Their tributes at CCAT have included the music of Aretha Franklin, Smokey Robinson, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, James Taylor, Carole King, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Joan Baez, and Bob Dylan. www.songwritersatplay.com

The Man from Earth

Friday November 7, 2025 - Sunday November 16, 2025
Friday 7 pm
Saturday 2 pm & 7 pm
Sunday 2 pm
Cambria Center for the Arts

After history professor John Oldman abruptly resigns from his university, his puzzled colleagues gather at his home seeking answers. What begins as a casual farewell soon turns extraordinary when John confesses the astonishing truth behind his sudden departure: he is immortal—having walked the earth for more than 14,000 years—and must leave every decade before his secret is uncovered.

Skeptical yet captivated, the professors press him relentlessly, testing his tale against the limits of science, history, and faith. Each question only leads to deeper revelations, blurring the boundary between reason and belief. Over the course of a single evening, their gathering transforms into a gripping exploration of mortality, memory, and the meaning of human existence—culminating in a shattering and unforgettable climax.

Conceived in the 1960s by acclaimed science fiction writer Jerome Bixby—creator of legendary episodes of Star Trek and The Twilight Zone—The Man from Earth is celebrated as his final and most profound masterpiece: a timeless story that challenges how we see history, humanity, and ourselves.
