Scarecrows in Focus: A Photographic Retrospective

Opening reception: Sat, 10/4, 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm

Wednesday October 1, 2025 - Thursday October 30, 2025
Cambria Center for the Arts - 1350 Main St

Since 2009, the Cambria Scarecrow Festival has celebrated whimsy and creativity each October with a magical display of scarecrows. Over that time, five photographers have been primarily responsible for the festival’s photos on its website, social media, and publications. Each has been asked to select a handful of their favorite images of the festival. All are on display during this year’s event. Discover just what a scarecrow can be.

Additionally, a limited number of other prints, photos, and merchandise will be available for sale. The exhibit will be open October 1 - 30 during Cambria Center for the Arts’ regular hours, noon to 4 pm, Tuesday through Sunday.

Please join us at the opening reception for light refreshments and wine (for sale by the glass). During the reception, 15% of any exhibit sales will be donated to the Cambria Scarecrow Festival. It should be a wonderful evening!

Curious Constructs / Digital Dreams

Storied Digital Works by Dena Mara Kuhn

Saturday November 1, 2025 - Sunday November 30, 2025
Cambria Center for the Arts - Studio

This November, the Cambria Center for the Arts Studio presents a multi-part exhibition of recent work by Dena Mara Kuhn, an artist working at the intersection of tradition and technology.

Exhibit Highlights:

Digital Still Lifes with Storied Objects — Contemporary arrangements in the spirit of Dutch Masters, paired with written vignettes and housed in custom 3D-printed frames.

• 3D Curious Cabinets — Sculptural boxes for jewelry, chocolate, or “phone detox,” each unique piece including an Artist Book and exploring themes of duality, memory, and mystery.

Creators On & Beyond the Central Coast — Twelve double-sided panels inspired by Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam, celebrating the creative lives of artists and makers.

This exhibition invites visitors to step into a world where craft, technology, and storytelling converge. Importantly, all stories in the show can be both read and listened to on a mobile device by scanning the accompanying QR codes, making the experience accessible and interactive.
