María Ayllón is an artist and printmaker living deep in the forest of the Santa Cruz Mountains in California. She left her corporate career and turned to art later in life as a path of recovery.

Working in intimate-scale watercolors and block printing, she paints the quiet, grounding atmosphere of the forest surrounding her home. Alongside her studio practice, she teaches watercolor instruction as a meaningful way of giving back to her community.

Deeply dedicated to animal welfare, she shares her life with rescue cats and directs a portion of her art proceeds to supporting local animal shelters.
